Abstract
Exploration of medicinal plants is an alternative development effort cervical. Cancer treatment to avoid the side effects of various ways of existing treatment. Kluwak seed (Pangium edule, R.) contains tocopherol. Tocopherol has been shown to have anti-cancer activity. This study aims to prove the content of tocopherol compounds and cytotoxic activity in the fraction of n-heksan ethanol extract kluwak seeds. Kluwak seed were extracted using 70% ethanol by ultrasonic method and then fractionated with n-hexane solvent. Test of tocopherol compound was performed by thin layer chromatography (TLC). The cytotoxicity test on heLa cervical cancer cell with MTT assay using five grade levels ie 750; 500; 400; 300; and 250 μg/ml. Analysis data of TLC interpreted data using Rf value while cytotoxicity test using linear regression to obtain IC 50 value. The results showed that the fraction n-hexane of extract ethanol of kluwak seed was proven to contain of tocopherol and had cytotoxic activity against cervical cancer cell HeLa with IC 50 of 406,47 μg/ml.
