Abstract

China has experienced very significant economic growth for decades after the economic revolution. China is the second largest economy in the world after the United States. 2017 China's GDP reached US $ 12.2 trillion, while US’s GDP reached US $ 19.3 trillion. China has become one of the Asian countries capable of being a competitive competitor to the hegemony of the United States. This study discusses the impact of China's One Belt One Road (OBOR) initiative on the Indonesian economy growth, especially in 2017. This initiative stems from the history of ancient silk routes, then in 2013 Chinese President Xi Jinping to first introduce The New Silk Road. Expansion of China's economy throughout this study aims to understand how many impacts will occur, both positive and negative impacts on the Indonesian economy. The research method used is descriptive qualitative method, namely research based on facts that occur in the field obtained from reliable data print and internet media. The theory used is the East Asian developmental state theory model developed by Chalmers Johnson in The Johnson’s Formulation. China's developmental state model is very influential on the map of global economic growth, Indonesia is one of the partner countries that is quite affected, the OBOR initiative produces impacts for Indonesia's economic growth, both positive and negative impacts.
