Abstract

Sports achievement is a sport whose ultimate goal is to achieve the highest achievement, commonly known as the sports achievements made at sports clubs. Persibat Club is one of the most respected clubs in the national level and has excellent coaches and players at the national level, but for the international scale the club is still lacking. The implementation can not be separated from management, which in particular can smoothen or maintain the club's activities and develop Persibat Club in order to get better achievement. The problem in this study focused on how the management functions of the club ranging from planning, organizing, actuating and controlling. The approach used in this study was a qualitative approach. The method used was descriptive method. Research instruments included interviews, observation and documentation. The location of the club research was Persibat Club, Batang. The target of this research were the manager, secretary, treasurer, coach, and player. Data analysis in this research consisted of to data collection, data study, data description, and final analysis. The research results show that for its planning function, Persibat Club have long term and short term programThe funding came from sponsor, company donor and ticket sales. The organization of this club still has a double role in its management. The actuating aspect of Persibat Batang from the aspect of coaching achievement and training program had been executed accordingly. For its achievement, the club also had participated and survived in various competitions, only the facilities and its infrastructure were still not enough. The controlling aspect in Persibat Club had also been executed according to their respective roles and responsibilities, and always held a meeting to conduct an evaluation. The conclusion of the research result is the fourth indicator of the club management function of Persibat Club had been implemented according to the program that has been made, only there are still shortcomings in every indicator of the management function that need to be improved. Suggestions that can be given from the research result is from the aspect of planning, the funding needed cooperation with other parties. In terms of organizing human resources need to be added so that every task in the management can be done optimally. In terms of actuating, stadium lights need to be added in order to help players see more clearly during evening games, in order to pass the verification when they will viii compete in the 1st League. In terms of controlling, the board can hold a meeting also with the players to be closer with the players and can find out what the complaints of players which later can be used as material for evaluation.
