Abstract

The world is pre-occupied with concept of radicalism, fundamentalism, extremism and terrorism, which have menaced the humanity . Terrorism is used for political reasons. There are four views of terrorism including the psy chological view, socialization view, ideological view, and the alienation view. A religious terrorist would most likely fit under the ideological view. When the world talks about terrorism and extremism automatically the first name which comes to mind is Pakistan. Pakistan, the birthplace of global terrorism, extremism & jihad and now its epicenter, has become a crucible of terror and is the most dangerous country in the world. Pakistan has taken I slam as a hostage to use it as a blackmailing tool against Afghanistan and India through proxy wars. The whole world looks at Pakistan, as a land of terrorists because Pakistan is a safe sanctuary for terrorists due to its foreign policy . This study is focus on religious extremism and terrorism in the name of religion that originate from Pakistan and the concept to reality . By reviewing the extant l iterature and drawing discussion based on Reasoned Action theor y by Fi shbein and Ajzen and this thesis the qualitative methods by appl y ing the secondary sources of data collection and the conclusion is based in response to the research question that why terrorism and religious extremism originate in Pakistan for continuing conflict in Afghanistan? And the reasons that why terrorists are rooted in Pakistan. Key words: Terrorism, Religious extremism, proxy war and mobilization of Afghans in Pakistan
