Abstract

The incidence of typhoid fever in children is quite high in Cilacap. There was a study that resulted there were no difference of fever-free time and duration of treatment between antibiotics treatment for typhoid fever children at a hospital. This study aims to determine the antibiotics that were used in the treatment between antibiotics treatment for typhoid fever inpatient children at Cilacap general hospital in 2012 years. This research is analytic survey with a retrospective approach. Sampling technique using the purposive sampling method. Sample used in this study were typhoid fever inpatient children at Cilacap general hospital in 2012 years. Therapeutic response data of the antibioticss use of typhoid fever as a fever-free time and duration of treatment were using Kruskal_Wallis test. This research resulted that the antibiotics that were used in the treatment of typhoid fever inpatient children at Cilacap general hospital were amoxicillin, ceftriaxon, cefotaxim, cefotaxim-gentamicin combination, ceftriaxon-cefotaxim combination, ceftriaxon-gentamicin combination, and cefotaxim-amoxicillin combination. Ceftriaxon is most used antibiotics at the tphoid fever treatment. There were no difference of fever-free time and duration of treatment between antibiotics treatment for typhoid fever inpatient children at Cilacap general hospital.
